AudioControl has announced The Director M4840 amplifier – the perfect solution for whole-house entertainment.

The amplifier is engineered to adhere to the needs of integration specialists and deliver performance from a form factor that is over 30% shallower than other rack-mounted amplifier. The M4840 has a combination of features with fine-tuning capability all compacted into design that is only 30cm deep.

The M4840 uses technology from the Director M-Series amplifier lineup which includes 100W/8Ω, 200W/4Ω per channel into an 8×10 stereo matrix that delivers programming into any zone.

Integrators are given the freedom to configure sound based on DSP (digital signal processing) profiles from other speaker brands which is a part of AudioControl’s Sound Partners Program and then fine-tune these profiles based on the environment.

The amplifier can also be used as a standalone matrix-amplifier or as part of a smart home environment with drivers available for third party control. These systems include Crestron, Savant, RTI or Control4. AudoControl has been able to give integrators with possibility to deliver 8-channels of sound from a 1U (M4800) or a 2U shallow (M4840) chassis.

The M4840’s powerful DSP engine includes graphic and parametric equalisation by zone, networking monitoring and programming as well as the addition of zone and global volume control with individual channel/zone grouping via standard TCIP and zone audio presets.

Bridging channels is also applicable which gives integrators flexibility when it comes to configuring for each system setup.

To complement, the Director Model M480 is now available in brushed aluminium and Black Espresso finish.
