The HD800 features 20 test patterns including 3D tests, side by side, top and bottom, and frame packing; a format that is mandatory for all HDMI 1.4 devices. This powerful pocket sized signal generator features a HDMI output as well as a HDMI pass-through to easily switch between test patterns and content from any other digital sources.

“We wanted to create a signal generator that would help you do more than put up some colours or a grid on the screen,” says Atlona’s director of marketing Christopher Bundy.

“We wanted to create a tool that helped installers figure out why they are having connectivity issues.”

The HD800 is controlled using timing select and pattern buttons on the unit in concert with LED indicator lights for power, digital format, pattern, and bypass options. Users can cycle through multiple patterns, or display information about connected sources or display such as EDID version, sink name, source name and resolution capabilities. Along with the ability to be powered through researchable AA Batteries, this unit can also be powered using the included 12V power supply.

The HD800 comes with a silicon sleeve that allows users to access the unit while keeping it protected on any job site.

Atlona’s HD800 will start shipping on 23 September and can be seen in action at CEDIA 2010.
