The distribution amplifiers also provide Power over Category cable (PoCc) capabilities for connected receivers, simplifying installations by eliminating the need for receiver power sources.

The AT-HDCAT’s HDBaseT technology allows extension of up to 230 feet with the 2×4 AT-HDCAT-4 and 2×8 AT-HDCAT-8, and up to 328 feet with the 2×8 AT-HDCAT-8ED. The units support video up to 1080p or 1920×1200, all lossy and lossless audio formats up to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and pass-through of all 3D formats. HDMI loop-outs allow sources to be sent to multiple AT-HDCAT amplifiers and displays, while S/PDIF and analogue audio loop-outs enable digital or stereo audio distribution to zone amplifiers or AV receivers within a rack.

Easy to use, the distribution amplifiers’ smart auto-switching capability eliminates the need to change inputs manually; users simply power on/off a source device and the matrix conveniently switches automatically. An EDID learning mode ensures compatibility with connected components such as receivers. The units feature locking HDMI ports, field-serviceable firmware ports, and are available with optional redundant power supplies.

The AT-HDCAT-4 and AD-HDCAT-8 can be used with Atlona’s new AT-HDRX HDBaseT receiver, while the AT-HDCAT-8ED is optimised for the new AT-HDRX-RSNET HDBaseT receiver, which supports the extended distance of up to 328 feet, as well as lossy and lossless audio signals over a single category cable.

“With a choice of four or eight outputs, and distances of 230 or 328 feet, our AT-HDCAT line of distribution amplifiers allows installers to select the right solution for extending HDMI signals in home theater and light commercial installations of any size,” says Atlona senior product manager Steve Heintz.

“The units are compatible with our powerful new AT-HDRX and AT-HDRX-RSNET HDBaseT receivers, and greatly simplify installations with their PoCc capability.”
