ATEN has launched the CE980 and CE990 USB True 4K DisplayPort/DHMI Optical KVM extenders.

These are ATEN’s first fibre optic KVM extenders supporting True 4K video, with transmission distances of up to 300m (CE980) or 10km (CE990).

Designed for mission-critical control environments such as transportation, manufacturing and utilities, the new extenders support HDR10, ensuring superior video quality with precise colour reproduction.

To enhance installation flexibility, both models feature a two-in-one DisplayPort/HDMI combo connector. This enables connections to either DisplayPort or HDMI displays at both the local and remote ends. This supports various display configurations, allowing users to mix or match output types as needed.

ATEN CE980 and CE990 support the extension of keyboard/mouse control, RS-232, USB 2.0 data and both stereo and embedded audio over fibre optic cabling. Supported audio formats include LPCM 7.1CH, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio.

Both extenders provide stable, interference-free transmission with built-in EMI resistance, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted performance.

ATEN senior vice president Nicholas Lin says that it’s delivering a future-ready solution.

“Whether it’s streamlining operations on a smart manufacturing line, maintaining situational awareness in a transportation control centre or enabling precision imaging in medical diagnostics, the CE980 and CE990 ensure secure, stable and interference-free transmission without compromise,” he says.
