ATEN International has launched the VW1608 16×8 Modular Video Wall Processor, integrating flagship performance into a compact 4U chassis.

The addition complements the high-capacity VW3620 (36×20), giving organisations a broader suite of visual processing solutions suited to environments ranging from corporate war rooms and auditoriums to transportation hubs and disaster response centres.

Designed to manage complex visual data, the VW1608 features an FPGA-based hardware architecture combined with FrameSync technology to deliver tear-free and latency-free performance, even during rapid source switching. Supporting True 4K resolution, the processor provides detailed image clarity and accurate colour reproduction, while intelligently upscaling and optimising content for different display types and sizes.

To support seamless LED video walls, the VW1608 enables overlapping and cross-screen windowing without the limitations of physical bezels. An intuitive web-based interface allows real-time drag-and-drop layout management, while a local HDMI output provides live previews so operators can verify adjustments before deploying them to the main display.

Housed in a modular 4U chassis, the processor supports 16 input sources and eight display outputs, with daisy-chaining available to expand up to 24 outputs. Engineered for continuous 24/7 operation, the system includes redundant power supplies and hot-swappable modules to maximise uptime. High-availability clustering with real-time mirroring and automatic failover further enhances resilience in mission-critical environments.

“By pairing exceptional 4K fidelity with a scalable modular design in a compact form factor, the debut of the VW1608 empowers our customers to visualise critical data with total confidence,” ATEN International senior vice president Nicholas Lin says.

“Whether deployed in corporate war rooms, auditoriums, transportation hubs or disaster response centres, the demand for 24/7 stability and absolute reliability is universal. With this addition, ATEN now provides a comprehensive portfolio of video wall processors, ensuring a precision-engineered solution for any scenario, regardless of scale or complexity.”
