The Association for Audiovisual and Education Technology Management (AETM) is calling for nominations for its 2018 Awards and Presentation Scholarship programs. These awards are intended to encourage, showcase and reward the outstanding work that is performed by members and also those who have served the organisation.

Categories include Learning and Teaching, Communication and Collaboration, Educational Media Production, Simulation and Live Event or Production. Three nominees may also be selected from these categories to fit one of the following areas of special interest – Innovation, Young (aged 35 or younger) or new AV professional and Women in AV.

In addition to the awards, AETM is offering two scholarships to members that will financially support each winner up to $5,000 to attend a suitably approved conference of the recipient’s choice. Conferences include SCHOMS in the UK and CCUMC or UBTECH in the USA.

Previous scholarship winners include Dave Rigter from the University of Wollongong with his presentation Back to the Future – How UOW went from JEDs to SVSi in twelve months.

“The scholarship has been a highlight of my professional development in the past few years.  Meeting colleagues from SCHOMMs in the UK helped frame some of the challenges we face here in Australia.  I’ve also been invited to present at UBTech in Las Vegas this year.  None of this would have been possible without the AETM’s support.  I strongly encourage all members to apply for a scholarship,” says Dave.

The AETM will also be awarding its Distinguished Service Award and Outstanding Contribution Award, recognising those individuals who have distinguished themselves through their long term commitment and excellence towards achieving the objectives of the association.

These awards are reserved for those whose contribution goes beyond the ordinary or even the excellent for an extended period of time.

Nominations for Outstanding Contribution and Distinguished Service must be received by 30 September 2018. All online application forms and guide lines available on the website.
