ABB’s state-of-the-art intercom technology was recently installed at the Rivage Royale in Surfers Paradise upgrading an intercom system residents had complained was antiquated.

Unlike standard intercom systems, ABB’s Welcome Intercom System offers a range of features, including IP capability that can be fully integrated into ABB’s home automation systems and allows residents to answer calls and open doors using their smart phone or tablet. By downloading the ABB-Welcome app residents can control their door station remotely from anywhere in the world, provided they have internet access and all calls can be transferred directly to a resident’s mobile device. With the full automation system residents can also adjust their lights, air conditioning and more.

The system is reliable and scalable to meet the demands of all types of buildings, and can be easily upgraded to ABB’s Free@home for future fully automated home solutions. It also contains an induction loop for the hearing impaired that can be installed and maintained quickly, with ease as it only uses two wire technology for audio and video.
