ABB and Amber Technology expands distribution agreement to ABB-free@home
ABB and Amber Technology has expanded its distribution agreement to include the ABB-free@home, further developing Amber Technology’s residential and light commercial installer network.
The ABB-free@home is designed to make a residence into a smart home by offering seamless control over blinds, lights, heating, air conditioning, door communication and customised scenes.

Home owners can manage their systems using wall switches, laptops or smartphones to enhance comfort and energy efficiency while reducing the costs.
“ABB is delighted to extend our partnership with Amber Technology to include the ABB-free@home solution, further enhancing our offering in the residential sector,” ABB business manager for building automation and home solutions Christian Schiemann says.
“Amber’s expertise and market reach will play a key role in expanding the installer network, making ABB-free@home the smart home solution of choice. We look forward to building on our existing successful collaboration with Amber Technology through the ABB i-bus KNX offering.”
All smart functions can be controlled through the ABB-free@home Next app. It can myBuildings remote access so users can connect to an ABB-free@home system via the internet for control anywhere.
The remote also allows installers to access client systems for troubleshooting and support to ensure a seamless user experience.
