A Big Year for The P.A. People
The P.A. People have an exciting year ahead. As providers of the world’s leading communications services for a wide range of sporting and cultural events, the company has won tenders for prestigious events both here in Australia and overseas.
European Games
June 2015 will see the first European Games take place in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. Encompassing more than 30 sports, these games will see athletes from all over Europe compete against each other – and The P.A. People will be right amongst the action. It has been chosen to provide the Communications System for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for this prestigious event.

Chris Dodds, Managing Director of The P.A. People, commented “We have successfully delivered Stage 1 of the systems requirement as event rehearsals soon get under way. We are looking forward to fulfilling Stage 2 shortly.”
The systems specified are considerably larger than those called up for the London 2012 Games and are of a similar scale to those deployed in Sochi in early 2014.
The P.A People is looking forward to deploying their IP centric systems for wired matrix and partyline comms, two way radios, time code, cue lights, cast monitoring and production vision monitoring.
24th Men’s Handball World Championship
The European Games isn’t the The P.A. People’s only big sporting event – it’s also been awarded the contract for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship in Doha Qatar in January 2015. Two tonnes of equipment have already been shipped from the Sydney office – less than four weeks after the first briefing.
Building on 2014
2014 saw The P.A People provide engineered communications and system solutions to a range of sporting and cultural events in Australia and internationally – and this will continue into the New Year. Some events on the list include Le Tour de France, City to Surf, Monster Jam, Asian Cup 2015, APIA International Tennis and Formula 1 Melbourne.
