International lighting unites local industry
From Monday 6th – 9th June, both local and internationally recognised lighting experts will come together to showcase the latest in lighting technology and participate in an Australian lighting Industry first – the biggest display of lighting innovations, networking opportunities and lighting experiences, all under the one roof.
The SPARC International Lighting event will not only showcase an array of lighting ideas for participants to witness first hand, but also provide a glimpse into the future and trends in the lighting industry. There are also opportunities for industry players to network, engage and further their knowledge through a series of educational seminars with a range of keynote speakers focusing on topical lighting issues.
SPARC enables participants to see, touch and experience the latest in lighting through a world-class lighting technology display from the local and international lighting industry. It is aimed at anyone who works, studies or designs in lighting or kindred industries such as architects, lighting designers, industrial designers, engineers, interior designers, landscape designers, building and project managers, facility managers, electrical contractors and end users of architectural, commercial and industrial lighting.

Lighting Council Australia chief executive Bryan Douglas plays a major role in the organisation of the SPARC event and is extremely confident participants will be overwhelmed with the calibre of exhibitors that will be presenting at the lighting event alongside the stellar list of keynote speakers.
“Never before has the Australian lighting industry seen an event on this grand scale. It is a fantastic opportunity for anyone involved in the lighting industry on any level to attend and experience the latest developments and innovations in the industry or increase their knowledge and even further their career within the industry.”
“We have watched similar events become very successful in Germany and the UK and we are confident stakeholders in the Australian lighting industry will relish the chance to learn, experience and enjoy what is on offer,” Bryan says.
The SPARC International Lighting event begins at Doltone House, Darling Island on Monday 6th June 2011, where indoor and outdoor lighting displays are switched on for participants to see and touch before attending the opening ceremony on Darling Island Wharf. June 7th and 8th are full days of displays and education seminars with optional tours to the Vivid and Smartlight festivals in the evening. The event will close with a Gala dinner on the heritage Jones Bay Wharf on Wednesday 8th June.
