Generating a naturally vivid and detailed picture up to 4.2m wide from Blu-ray films and games, the new SP8604 combines textures, contrast and depth with a quiet (20dB eco) low-profile design and installation versatility.

Armed with DLP DarkChip technology from Texas Instruments including DynamicBlack, the InFocus SP8604 Full HD 1080p projector provides a native 5000:1 contrast ratio, which is boosted to a maximum of 30000:1 with DynamicBlack technology. A bright 1,700 video-optimised lumens is precision controlled by the SP8604’s Unishape lamp, designed to adapt the intensity of its light to the image content with millisecond accuracy.

Synchronised with a fast six-segment colour wheel (RGBRGB), Pixelworks DNX 10-bit video-processing provides the SP8604 with smooth playback of film and video content, including 1080p/24 support. A more fluid transition between frames in moving images is complemented by the fast colour refresh of 1.07 billion colours, optimised by variable colour adjustment and digital gamma correction.

Projecting through glass optics, the SP8604’s motion quality and colour stability will render complex scenes with D65 accuracy.

The SP8604 is ready for action out-of-the-box, but it includes additional features for precision tuning. Based on the SP8602 model, the SP8604 combines a greater range of vertical (-40 to +120%) and horizontal (±10%) lens shift with a choice of short (fixed at 0.77), standard (1.54 – 1.93:1 width) and long-throw (1.93 – 2.89:1 width) lenses to accommodate the widest range of installation possibilities. All the lenses have extremely high line pair glass for focal planarity and brightness uniformity.

Easy connection to virtually any consumer electronic device is possible via a wide array of inputs including three HDMI 1.3 ports with Deep Color support, component, S-video, VGA and composite connectors. The SP8604 has also built-in RS232 port and a 2 x 12V trigger for easy home theatre system integration.
