TecHome’s success over the last five years under HETECH’s umbrella forged its rite of passage to becoming a new entity. It has the benefit of HETECH’s electronics design and manufacture experience; however, the new company will have a strong advantage by focusing solely on the home/building automation and remote control products and markets.

TecHome has developed a long-range, multi-channel, 433MHz/ZigBee protocol remote control and receiver suite. The devices are Australian designed and manufactured and are an affordable and quality alternative to older technology imports.

“TecHome realised the market required a cost-effective multi-function remote control that could easily be customised to suit a customer’s requirements,” TecHome general manager Mark Steiner says.

“We are backed by 20 years of experience in the electronics design and manufacture industry, and decided to take up the challenge to offer a quality alternative to foreign imports.”

Believed to be the first in Queensland, if not Australia, TecHome has developed the devices with the support of Queensland Government’s Business and Industry Transformation Incentives. The award has enabled a Queensland company to design and manufacture an innovative electronics product and retain the intellectual capital within Australia.

Now in full production and supplying several major Australian companies, TecHome has moved into the American market and is developing further export opportunities.
