Mitsubishi HC3900 1080P home theatre projectors.
Unlike most home theatre projectors, the HC3900 boasts an unusually high maximum brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens, making it ideal for use in areas where light isn’t easily blocked out such as pubs, clubs or living rooms with large exposure to sunlight. Even during the day, users can watch their favourite movies or sporting events without worrying about ambient light drowning out the picture.
“For people who may not have access to a dedicated home theatre room, the HC3900 makes for an ideal solution” said Stuart Baker, Senior Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Australia Visual Information Systems. “When set up in a living room with the blinds or curtains closed, the HC3900 delivers excellent Full HD images that are clear and easy to view”.
The HC3900 features the latest Digital Light Processing (DLP) chip from Texas Instruments, which incorporates a new digital micromirror device (DMD) comprised of densely embedded micromirrors. A smaller mirror cavity diameter and narrower gaps between mirrors improves the aperture ratio of the chip for a smoother image. Reflective light diffusion is also greatly reduced, which translates to a higher contrast ratio for better overall blacks, whites and colour reproduction.

Colour reproduction is further enhanced thanks to the combination of a five-segment colour wheel and BrilliantColor technology. Both these features are utilised to ensure images from video sources are reproduced accurately and with richer gradation. The HC3900 also boasts a colour management function where each individual colour (R,G,B,C,M,Y) can be adjusted to suit the user’s tastes.
The projector features a full 10-bit panel driver, which delivers approximately four times the gradation of its 8-bit counterparts for smoother black reproduction with subtler tones. The 1.5x short throw zoom lens incorporates a 13-piece, 4-cluster all-glass lens providing sharp, focused big-screen images even in smaller rooms.
The HC3900’s optimised high output lamp is capable of running up to 5000 hours*, for months of Full HD entertainment. An efficient cooling system and low-noise fan give the projector an impressive 25dBA* running volume. Other features include vertical keystone correction, a projector screen trigger and anamorphic lens compatibility.
