AVIXA launches broadcast AV course to bridge pro AV and broadcast workflows
AVIXA has launched a new online course designed to help pro AV and broadcast professionals understand the end-to-end workflows used in increasingly integrated media environments.
Broadcast AV: Glass-to-Glass examines the complete content workflow, from image capture through a camera lens to delivery on a viewer’s screen. It aims to help professionals plan, operate and support systems that combine broadcast and pro AV technologies.

AVIXA vice president of content creation Pam Taggart says the course reflects the growing convergence of the two disciplines and the need for professionals who understand both.
“The convergence of broadcast and pro AV is reshaping our industry, and this course provides professionals with an understanding of how broadcast operates in today’s AV environment,” she says.
“As organisations discover a need for interdisciplinary professionals, our course is a reflection of our commitment to prepare professionals to operate and support today’s industry.”
Developed with subject matter experts from across the AV and broadcast sectors, the course is designed for pro AV professionals, broadcast specialists and those entering integrated media environments.
The training explores the key stages of broadcast and pro AV production, including acquisition and distribution, examining how people, technologies and processes contribute to a reliable workflow and the final viewer experience.
Through practical examples, learners will follow content through each stage of production and consider how decisions made at different points affect the overall system. The course also aims to help professionals communicate more effectively across teams and make informed decisions when working with integrated media technologies.
Diversified supported the development of the course, while EVS provided additional support for the program.
Diversified director of intake and bid desk Nathan Volchko says the distinction between broadcast and pro AV environments was becoming less pronounced, with similar expectations for performance and reliability applying across a range of applications: “The line between broadcast and pro AV has all but disappeared. The same expectations for reliability, timing and quality now apply in a corporate studio, a house of worship, or an arena as they do in a network control room.”
“Diversified is proud to bring our experience designing and delivering these systems to create this training.”
EVS vice president of business development Matthew Morgan says the course addressed a need for education connecting the two disciplines.
“The skills required to support these environments are evolving quickly, and what’s been missing is an educational bridge that connects the disciplines and helps professionals understand the complete media workflow,” he adds.
“Glass-to-Glass is an important step toward building that shared understanding and preparing our industry for what’s next.”
