NetComm launches WiFi-connected plug to automate router reboots
NetComm has launched WiFiHero, a WiFi-connected smart plug designed to automatically restart routers, modems and other supported devices when internet connectivity issues persist.
The Australian-made product monitors internet connectivity and briefly cuts power to a connected device to trigger a reboot, potentially restoring the connection without requiring manual intervention.

NetComm says that around 70% of internet service provider (ISP) support calls are resolved by rebooting a router. WiFiHero is designed to automate this process and reduce the need for customers to contact support teams by phone, email or online chat.
The company is targeting households, remote workers and businesses seeking to simplify connectivity troubleshooting. ISPs could also offer WiFiHero as part of broadband packages or alongside compatible hardware, while distributors could supply it as an accessory during broadband installations.
