GENERAL Australia has launched anywAiR technology Zoneconnex, a WiFi-enabled zoning solution for ducted air conditioning systems in residential and light commercial applications.

Zoneconnex provides independent control of up to ten zones, with airflow adjustable in 5% increments to help users direct conditioned air to the areas that need it. Users can control temperature, fan speed, operating modes and zone settings through a wall-mounted controller, while built-in scheduling allows systems to be configured around daily routines.

Remote control is also available through a mobile app for iOS and Android, allowing users to adjust zones, temperatures and schedules from anywhere.

GENERAL Australia and New Zealand general manager, product and strategy Kyle Rafter says Zoneconnex was designed to provide a more accessible zoning option for customers seeking greater control over their ducted systems.

“The introduction of anywAiR technology Zoneconnex reflects a shift towards more adaptable and user-driven climate control. It also helps address growing demand for practical zoning solutions in the market, where customers are looking for greater comfort and control at a more accessible price point,” he says.

“Zoneconnex makes it easy to manage different areas independently, so users can create a more comfortable environment while also using energy more efficiently.”

The system is designed to simplify installation, with the Zoneconnex controller connecting directly to the indoor unit printed circuit board (PCB) through a standard universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) port. The connection method is the same as that used by existing NXT adaptors, reducing the need for additional components.

A dedicated setup mode allows installers to commission the system using the controller’s own WiFi signal, removing the need to connect to a local network during installation.

Zoneconnex is compatible with a broad range of GENERAL ducted indoor units and can be used in new installations and system upgrades, including residential multi-room and light commercial applications.
