Paul Skelton will step down as CEDIA Australia and New Zealand regional development consultant on 7 September 2026, bringing an end to six and a half years with the smart home technology association.

During his tenure, Paul became one of the most prominent advocates for residential technology integrators across Australia and New Zealand, working to raise the profile and professional standing of the sector.

His work included developing CEDIA’s local training and CPD programs, growing events such as the CEDIA Tech Summit and advocating for formal occupational recognition of smart home technology integrators.

That advocacy also included groundwork towards establishing a national apprenticeship pathway for the profession.

“When I started, much of the work our integrators do went unrecognised,” Paul says.

“I’m proud that, together with an extraordinary community, we’ve made real progress in changing that through training, through advocacy and through events that bring people together. I’m leaving with enormous respect for the people in this industry and a lot of optimism about where it’s heading.”

While leaving CEDIA, Paul confirms that he will remain involved in the industry and describes his departure as “a change of seat, not a change of direction”. He will share details of his next move in due course.

Paul also thanks CEDIA members, partners and colleagues across Australia, New Zealand and internationally for their support during his time with the organisation: “This community made this the most rewarding chapter of my career. I’ll be cheering it on, and I hope our paths cross again soon.”
