Barix introduces AI-powered development framework for FLEXA platform at InfoComm 2026
Barix, distributed by Amber Technology, will unveil an AI-enabled development framework for its FLEXA family of audio-over-IP and control devices at InfoComm 2026, aiming to simplify custom application development for AV professionals, systems integrators and technology managers.
The framework is designed to work with Claude AI and enables users to create customised applications using AI-assisted programming on Barix’s FLEXA hardware platform.

It combines purpose-built hardware, proprietary audio-over-IP libraries and optimised firmware to help users generate code and develop applications more efficiently. The system also incorporates custom-developed AI skills designed to improve coding accuracy while drawing on Barix’s audio-over-IP expertise.
The AI-enabled ecosystem will initially support four products: The MPI400 FLEXA intercom and I/O device, the M400 FLEXA stereo encoder/decoder, the LX400 FLEXA broadcast codec and the Barionet M44 FLEXA programmable networked I/O controller.
“The introduction of the latest Claude AI models has democratised application development,” Barix chief executive Reto Brader says.
“You no longer need to be a programming expert to write programs for well-defined platforms. With the advent of AI, many more people can now take advantage of the programmable capabilities built into our hardware.”
Reto says the framework would be beneficial for people requiring specialised functionality that would previously have required costly software development.
“Thanks to AI, customers can now create their own solutions without paying large sums for software development,” he says.
“We’re helping our customers enable all applications at an affordable price, no matter how specific.”
Barix has aimed the framework towards users across commercial AV, broadcast and facility control markets, with applications ranging from building automation and communications systems to customised audio-over-IP deployments.
