ATEN International has launched its PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series, described as the industry’s first 5K Secure KVM switches certified to PSD PP v4.0 by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP).

Designed for defence, intelligence and national security agencies, the series is purpose-built for multi-classification environments where preventing data leakage between unclassified, secret and top secret systems is critical. The switches are intended for use in mission-essential settings such as command centres and surveillance hubs.

The series features DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 combo video connections, supporting ultra-high-resolution visuals up to 5K. Customisable port LED colours and classification labels allow operators to clearly identify system classifications at a glance, supporting faster and more accurate operation in sensitive environments.

The PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series has a more compact, tamper-evident chassis, enabling secure deployment in restricted facilities while improving operator efficiency across multi-classification workflows.

Compliance with the NIAP-certified PSD PP v4.0 standard ensures high-assurance data protection when switching between classified and unclassified systems. Security is maintained through hardware-based isolation, unidirectional data transmission, peripheral and audio filtering and an always-on tamper-proof design. This allows users to securely share a single keyboard, mouse, monitor, speaker and CAC reader across multiple networks without compromising security.

“ATEN PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series sets a new benchmark in secure connectivity by combining uncompromising data protection with superior 5K visual performance,” ATEN International senior vice president Nicholas Lin says.

“With PSD PP v4.0-certified protection, secure USB control and clear multi-level system identification, the new ATEN 5K Secure KVM Series strengthens mission-critical workstation security while enabling operators to switch between sensitive or classified systems without risk of data leakage.”

He adds that the higher-density 5K display capability allows more information to be viewed on a single screen, improving operational awareness while maintaining consistent visual clarity and strict security assurance.

Key features of the ATEN PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series include compliance with the latest PSD PP v4.0 security requirements, 5K video output via DisplayPort or HDMI through a single combo connector, a rugged metal enclosure for long-term durability and configurable port identification through LED colours and port name labels.

The series also supports secure port switching via pushbuttons or an optional remote port selector, ATEN’s Video DynaSync technology to eliminate display delays when switching sources and visual security indicators showing peripheral filtering and KVM status. Administrative control over CAC port filtering and flexible CAC enable or disable functions are also supported, depending on the model.
