KEF has released the Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX speakers as part of the Extreme Home Theatre range.

Both speakers include KEF’s signature driver array, the Uni-Q 12th generation. They also feature Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a maze-like structure that absorbs 99% of unwanted sound from the rear of the tweeter.

The Ci5120QLM-THX and Ci3120QLM-THX speakers feature specially designed 120mm bass drivers that offer long-throw capabilities and low distortion. The Ci5120QLM-THX  has four bass drivers, while the Ci3120QLM-THX has two.

This latest collection includes KEF’s Flexible Decoupling Chassis, which reduces unwanted driver basket motion, ensuring vibrations from the mid and high-frequency motor systems do not interfere.

Additionally, the re-engineered tweeter gap damper aims to tame resonances. The 3-way system design and fully optimised crossovers allow each driver to be configured for its specific role.

Both speakers carry THX certifications. The Ci5120QLM-THX carries the THX Certified Ultra designation, making it suitable for large rooms and the Ci3120QLM-THX carries the THX Certified Select designation, making it compatible for medium-sized rooms.

The Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) offers the slimmest visible rim around the speakers, and is IP64 certified, making them splash and dust-proof.
