New loudspeaker desgins and exciting new materials and technologies will continue to keep the performance of Catsle products at the cutting edge of reasearch into acoustics.

Founded in the early 1970s, Castle is now one of the last loudspeaker manufacturers to build its cabinets, drive units and electronic components in-house. They say in-house manufacturing gives them the major advantage of being able to design and develop drive units for specific cabinets. They don’t have to design their speaker enclosures around modified ‘off-the-peg’ drivers. They pride themselves on the research they carry out and as everything is built in-house it is easier to carry out fundamental research into the interactions between the drivers, cabinet and crossover.

Their integrated design approach gives them the advantage of drive units designed for a specific speaker system and avoids the need for complex crossovers. It is widely understood that fewer, high quality components in a simple crossover network gives a more accurate and clearer sound.
