Straight Wire has introduced Swivel HDMI cables in lengths up to 6 metres that use OFC 28 Ga. conductors with precision twisted pair tolerances and multi-shields to deliver Category 2 (High Speed) HDMI digital video data. The cables are ATC and Simplay tested to ensure consistent and reliable performance, even when the ends are rotated 90 degrees in either direction. The use of 28 AWG conductors in lengths up to 6 metres is based upon advancements in manufacturing tolerances. A relevant issue for high-speed digital video is not resistance, but conductor to conductor variations that can cause impedance fluctuations.
