The 8K Association (8KA) has launched discover8K.com which explores the latest advancements in displays, cameras and home entertainment.

The site provides valuable tools to learn about the 8K ecosystem including topics such as: lists of TVs that fit the 8K Association’s performance standards; information about current and upcoming sources of 8K content; guidance for home usage such as screen sizes and seating distances; advanced technology behind 8K up-scaling; and other news of interest.

In addition, the 8K Association is hosting a ‘State of 8K’ webinar for press and industry professionals later this month.

8KA marketing work group chair Aaron Dew says that the association was founded to bring content creators, technology providers, panel manufacturers, TV brands and others together to accelerate the expansion of the 8K ecosystem. But he acknowledged that consumers would be key to determining how quickly the technology would be adopted.
