The latest white paper from CEDIA explores the cable considered and global standard for transmitting ultra-high-definition video and audio. Named HDBaseT for 4K & 8K Video, it looks into its development, its specifications and ongoing evolution.

“We examine the topic of HDBaseT to provide more clarity for integrators on a highly complex technology that is seeing increased adoption and a growing slate of use scenarios,” CEDIA senior director of technology and standards Walt Zerbe says.

“HDBaseT has been on the market for over a decade and systems are emerging every day that deliver better sound and picture, demanding this top-level pipeline. The goal of the white paper is to foster a broader perspective of the technology’s full scope of application, so members can be prepared for what’s next.”

The white paper covers a range of angles including bandwidth challenges, compression, compatibility, Power-over-HDBaseT (PoH) approaches, system design and more.

Also included in the publication is input from Blustream, who design and engineer AV distribution products that are distributed globally and has headquarters locations in Australia and the UK.

CEDIA members have complimentary access to the HDBaseT for 4K & 8K Video white paper.
