Chowmain launches new Kaleidescape driver

The Chowmain Kaleidescape driver makes it easier for users to watch movies on a Control4 system.

The driver lets users walk into a home theatre, pick up the Control4 T3 touchscreen and after selecting something to watch, the lights start to dim, projector turns on, screen masking and projection modes adjust to the specific movie you are watching.

It’s even smart enough to start providing feedback when intermissions occur and when the credits start to roll which lets users program the lighting for when this occurs.

All this has been in the driver for years, but Chowmain has taken feedback from integrators and improved upon suggestions in the new Kaleidescape driver. This included providing cover art when using the Control4 Navigator, movie favouriting for ease of access and separate server and player drivers to help users select if a movie will initiate playback on the first unused player in the room.

This driver is brand new, which means customers already using the existing driver will need to remove the old before installing the new. A new licence isn’t necessary as it uses the previous.
