PowerShades’ Power Over Ethernet (PoE) automated window shades have won a prestigious IoT Integration Award.

The company picked up the Residential/Home Enhancement gong at the awards which are a combined effort of three publications: CE Pro, Commercial Integrator and Security Sales & Integration.

PowerShades’ PoE technology uses a single network cable instead of complex wiring to transfer power and communication. They run off a quite PoE motor, offering flexibility, ease of installation, and potential cost saving. The motor is low voltage and does not require a licensed electrician or special certifications.

CE Pro editor-in-chief Jason Knott says the Internet of Things is becoming ubiquitous in the home, pointing out that full connectivity and communication among devices is the new norm.
