New flagship catalyst XL display wall processor from Jupiter by Infocus has been revealed. Infocus Corporation, a supplier of tools that connect global enterprise infrastructures and employees around the world, unveiled the flagship catalyst XL as the latest display from its Jupiter range. The Jupiter range is a provider of wall solutions for collaboration and learning. It features video annotation capability, high-speed bandwidth, data transfer, large memory capacity and 4K and 8K capture board technology.

The catalyst XL processor can power up to 48 displays with a max of 156 4K IP and direct inputs. It requires fewer input/output boards due to its density of processing power, and is available with a four-channel HDMI input board. These are able to ingest resolutions up to 4K per input, and are able to be synchronised for 8K capture.

Bandwidth speeds reach 15.8GBps PCIe Gen3 x 16 with the catalyst XL. It uses point-to-point technology and the high-speed bandwidth allows data to be sent without having to go through system memory. Direct GMA technology supports full-duplex communication between boards and allows full-frame rate transmission via the display through the PCIe bus. The technology allows the processor to handle high-speed data transfers while using frame synchronicity. catalyst XL also supports several languages, plus backwards compatibility with Infocus ControlPoint software.

The catalyst XL is compatible with a specialised version of Windows 10 and also with Canvas, the Jupiter visualisation software. Canvas allows display views of data, video and applications from a control room. Single video wall use can be construed via Canvas or through a Canvas enterprise ecosystem to display multiple video walls.

Jupiter by Infocus product manager Devon Wright says, “Equipping catalyst XL with the fastest bandwidth available, along with more 4K direct inputs and streaming sources, was critical in debuting our newest flagship display wall processor. We’ve tapped into processing, memory, and resolution advancements to give users a highly-capable solution designed for the enterprise and mission-critical applications the Jupiter brand is known for.”

catalyst XL will debut 5-8 February at ISE 2019.
