Zigbee Alliance, an association of different companies directly correlated with the global standards for the Internet of Things (IoT), has recently announced that Amazon will join its board of directors. With industry focus on simplifying the increasing range of IoT products, Amazon will be one of several tech companies that collaborates with Zigbee in order to comply with user-friendly experiences.

Amazon Alexa smart home director Christian Taubman says, “Customers tell us they want smart home experiences that are simple to setup, easy to control and add convenience to the tasks they do every day. Voice control with Alexa is helping remove the complexity of smart home, and there are even more ways we can help customers by ensuring their smart devices connect and work together seamlessly. As it develops, consumers are beginning to work more frequently with IoT products, including the Amazon smart home range. Voice services such as Amazon Alexa allow lights, locks and other newer sensors that integrate convenience through their immediate surroundings. The industry is flourishing as manufacturers and organisers are dealing with barriers and finding better solutions.
