URC announces its new Total Control 2.0 driver

URC announces its new Total Control 2.0 driverURC has announced the completion of its new Total Control 2.0 driver for IP control of select 2017 Samsung TVs, 2018 4K UHD TVs and Samsung’s UBD-M9700 UHD Blu-ray player. This includes the NU8 Series, the entire QLED series and the Frame TV.

The new URC driver simplifies integration of IP controllable Samsung TVs and the UHD Blu-ray player into URC control and automation systems.

“Total Control 2.0 offers premium, next-generation user interfaces that can be customised with images of a customer’s home, family and interests. The system represents a best-in-class user experience for fully-integrated smart home control,” says URC senior vice president and general manager Doug Cole.

“We are pleased to be partnered with a technology leader and innovator such as Samsung Consumer Electronics in bringing advanced control solutions for consumers.”

Samsung Electronics America vice president of TV product marketing Andrew Sivori says that by adding IP support of the entire 4K UHD TV line-up and new UBD-M9700 UHD Blu-ray player, the company is addressing the increasing consumer appetite for the simplicity of whole-home control.

“URC is a major player in the market and with this new driver our partners can feel confident that Samsung is the right choice for their smart home projects.”
