Sony Electronics announces firmware update to Sony HT-ST5000 7.1.2ch 800W Dolby Atmos sound bar
Sony Electronics has announced the release of a firmware update to the Sony HT-ST5000 7.1.2ch 800W Dolby Atmos sound bar to support DTS’ latest immersive audio format, DTS: X. It also includes DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS Digital Surround.

The firmware will also allow existing DTS DVDs and Blu-ray Discs to expand their proficiencies, enabling a fuller sound experience than previously available.
With the firmware update, which will be available by the end of September 2017, the flagship HT-ST5000 sound bar will have the latest 4K HDR support, HDCP 2.21, Google Home compatibility and multi-room listening.
Users can cast music, podcasts and radio from more than 100 audio apps, including Google Play music, from a smart phone, tablet or laptop to audio device thanks to built-in Chromecast.
