Focal of France have introduced their new 300 Series. The result of 3 years R&D, these are the best install speakers Focal have ever made and deliver a balanced clear, yet rich sound for hi-fi or home cinema installs.

Hi-fi – Home Cinema – Dolby Atmos – DTS-X – Auro 3D?

The 300 Series speakers are extremely versatile and can be used for hi-fi or built-in home cinema. To enhance classic hi-fi, they perfectly match Focal’s Aria 900 speaker line. For home cinema systems, the 300 Series line have been designed to outperform with Dolby Atmos and all object oriented movie sound systems.

Almost Invisible

To integrate with interiors, the ICW loudspeakers come supplied with two designs of ultra-thin and frameless protective grilles. Square grilles blend in with wall-mounted screens and round grilles match the most common shape of in-ceiling lighting fixtures. Grilles are magnetically mounted and can be painted to blend.

Shallow is Good

A major advantage of the range is the shallow mounting depth: from only 93mm for the 300 ICW4 and only 122mm for the biggest model, the 300 ICW8. All three models are 2-way loudspeakers, and the speaker drivers are available in three sizes according to the model: a 10cm (4”) speaker driver for the 300 ICW4, a 16.5cm (6 1/2”) coaxial speaker driver for the 300 ICW6 and a 21cm (8”) coaxial speaker driver for the 300 ICW8.

Easy install

Focal’s R&D department developed the EQI system (“Easy Quick Install”), to make in-wall and in-ceiling installation a doddle. Each ICW loudspeaker is composed of two parts: the EQI mounting frame and the loudspeaker. The mounting frame is fixed to the wall or ceiling using the easy mounting brackets and the loudspeaker can easily be mounted to the frame with the quarter-turn locking mechanism.

Flax Speaker Driver Cones

The speaker driver cones of the 300 SERIES range are made using Flax sandwich technology. Flax is an eco-textile with astounding structural properties: it is light, rigid and well damped for providing greater neutrality of the timbre and better definition. Flax is also used in the Aria 900 range.

Al/Mg Inverted Dome TNV2 Tweeter

The new TNV2 Tweeter uses Focal’s inverted dome technology, allowing for optimal energy transfer and limited directivity. The dome’s aluminium/magnesium alloy guarantees outstanding stiffness and damping to provide a sweet and dynamic treble. The tweeter can be set using the switch at the rear of the loudspeaker and can be tilted +/- 20° and can be pivoted 360°: direct the tweeter towards the listening area for maximum precision of the treble and of the stereo image
