The Engineering Emmy Award is given for developments and/or standardization in engineering technologies which either represent so extensive an improvement on existing methods, or are so innovative in nature that they have materially affected the transmission, recording, or reception of television.

The award will be presented on January 8, 2015 at the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, during the 2015 International CES conference.

Today, over 1,500 HDMI adopters have created over 4 billion HDMI-enabled products that provide consumers with a superior viewing experience, pixel-for-pixel video accuracy, and audiophile-quality sound.
