Surround Sounds launches new Lifestyle Technology Centre

To celebrate its new ‘Lifestyle Technology Centre’, the company recently held a ‘Summers night inspired by the French Riviera’.

Paying tribute to the French made Cabasse L’Ocean and also B&W’s Nautilus speakers flown in for the event; this inspired the evening’s seaside St Tropez theme. Over 200 VIPs got into the summer spirit adorning sophisticated resort wear making a classy but relaxed vibe to set the tone of the night. Guests including media, architects, designers, builders, local identities and VIP clients, enjoyed sumptuous canapés’ in true French style and sipped on local Pemberley Wines with the respected winemaker Rob Bowen on hand offering special reserve tastings on the night.

While we may often think it’s all about the technology, Surround Sounds’ mantra at events to ensure that through its supporting partners there is something for everyone to enjoy, and this soiree was no exception. With the cool sounds of DJ’d French lounge music filtering through the 1000 sqm showroom, noted Australian biro artist Andy Quilty undertook ‘live art’ on the walls of Surround Sounds using beautifully handcrafted Montegrappa pens. You could even hang 10 on the night with the very happening sport and carbon fibre technology of Stand up Surfboards, with a Lamborghini Aventador greeting guests at the entry.

Through Surround Sounds’ sponsorship of the WA Miss Universe, six lovely finalists mingled with guests and showcased new Kooey resort wear fashions, Swiss made U-Boat watches, Alison Jade makeup, Aussie Bombshell tanning products and over $500,000 of Rosendorff jewellery.

Perhaps one of the most theatrical of the evening’s highlights and a well-guarded secret was as guests sipped their first flute of Mumm Champagne on arrival. In the bottom of each champagne flute was a 1 carat Cubic Zirconia gem, however one of them was actually a real 1.06 carat diamond valued at $15,000. After drinks were carefully consumed, each gem was checked by a diamond expert on hand and the guest given a unique number. Later in the evening the lucky number was read out and the exclusive winners Rob and Diane, were over the moon at taking home the gorgeous Rosendorff diamond.

Other lucky door prizes were a 5.1 Cabasse speaker system, Lamborghini prize pack, Pemberley Wine, Cosmetics and Ipod docks.

In officially opening the new centre, managing director Dale Seeley says, “Since Surround Sounds started back in the 1980’s we’ve constantly driven and also responded to changes in the lifestyle space where media content, quality, practicality and fashion have been converging . The Lifestyle Technology Centre allows building professionals and clients a tangible, inspired look at ways we can make the most out of technology where that be not only our traditional audio visual and smart home systems, but complimented by other valid building technologies such as engineered stone, aquariums, pool tables, fine furnishings, acoustic treatments and motorised concealment systems. Proudly, many of these are local artisan products to WA.”

Co-director Mark Jeisman says, “Surround Sounds is not just a hi-fi store anymore, nor home theatre or smart home store – it is all of that and more. The business has moved into producing complete finished concept solutions that encompass modern living where many things technology or otherwise are connected in some way. What we’ve done here is created, and joined the dots on some exciting ideas. It can be functional, simple, and excellent quality, look great and best of all, fun.”

The Surround Sounds Lifestyle Technology centre is now open at 83 Stirling Hwy, Nedlands WA.
