AVD won both awards for its unique, state-of-the-art “Energy-Efficient Residence” which was specifically designed to reduce power consumption and optimise efficiency. From conceptualisation and design, through to installation and commissioning, AVD provided a fully integrated and customised system.

The energy-efficient residence is built around a central atrium that spans five floors and features a motorised glass roof. The roof automatically opens and closes depending on external climatic conditions and internal temperature, while also allowing natural light to enter the building. Automated louvres located throughout the house are also adjustable.

In front of 300 industry representatives, international guests, family and friends, AVD Australia beat a highly competitive field in two categories, in what was described as “the best example of entrants ever.”

CEDIA Asia Pacific Executive Director Stephen Miller said: “This year we doubled the amount of entrants for the awards (82) which address 13 categories. AVD Australia is a worthy winner of these two awards, which were judged by a panel of Australian and overseas industry experts.

“It’s a great example of how this industry has matured over the years and what amazing skills our members contribute to custom electronic installations in the home.

“AVD Australia should be very proud of these awards and we wish it future success as it delivers exciting projects to its customers,” Miller said. “We expect to see it on the podium again next year.”
