The record number of attendees witnessed the launch of Vision2 and Inspired-2-Go and left with the clear message that AMX is well equipped to succeed the current economic situation with a strong and dedicated team and stronger products.

The AMX Australia and New Zealand team were complimented with the addition of International AMX guests including Kevin Morrison, Managing Director, AMX Digital Media Group, Robert Noble, AMX Chief Technology Officer, Tom Scott, Technical Director, Digital Media Group and Paul Hand, Product Manager AutoPatch Group.

Launched at the conference were landmark AMX product lines, Inspired-2-Go and Vision2, presented by Kevin Morrison and Tom Scott. Inspired-2-Go is AMX’s new Digital Signage solution that includes pre-designed layouts, editing and scheduling software that allow dealers and end-users to create their own digital signage components without help from AMX. Digital Signage is one of the most exciting and fastest growing segments of the commercial audiovisual industry and opens large new markets for audio visual and integrators.

AMX’s IPTV solution, Vision2 is a sophisticated, fully-integrated video capture, management and broadcast system for organisations and homeowners wanting a comprehensive, yet simple-to-use, IP video delivery solution. Vision2 enables video distribution, live, scheduled or on-demand throughout a building or around the world from one centrally managed source.

In addition to Inspired-2-Go and Vision2, a number of new products were released to the Australian and New Zealand market at AMX09 including the Modero 4.3” Touch Panels NXD-435 and NXD-430, the two new additions to the Total Presentation Interface product line TPI-PRO-DVI and the new and improved NetLinx Studio Version 3.

A significant highlight of the event was AMX Australia Consultant Alliance Group Manager, Jonathan Rutledge’s presentation on the first white paper released as part of AMX Australia & New Zealand’s, Making Technology Green Initiative.

This white paper is the first of several to be released over the coming months, each of which demonstrate how AMX products and technologies can be utilised to assist in the attainment of Green Star points in a nominated category as per the GBCA Green Star Program. The first white paper focuses on how AMX can assist in the attainment of Green Star Point; Energy Sub Metering as part of the Green Star Rating Tool: Office As-bilt v3.

AMX09 also saw the largest number of submissions into the AMX Best Project Awards. With over 17 submissions the AMX judging panel were overwhelmed by the unique end-user solutions and high level of complex system design achieved in these projects. Winners include AVD Australia – The Energy Efficient Residence, Corporate Initiatives – Telstra Executive Briefing Centre, Futureworks – New Zealand Parliament and Integrated Vision – Queensland Health – Patient Monitoring System.

The increased dealer attendance and the positive reactions to the new AMX products and initiatives show that the industry is alive and well equipped to move through the current global economic situation. General manager Graham Evans comments, “At AMX Australia we have elected not to participate in any recession, research by Infocomm International reveals that in comparison with 07-08, end-users expenditure on AV is set to remain the same if not increase in 2009.”

“Here at AMX Australia we have and will continue to invest heavily on training our staff and the channel, increase our human resources across the nation, further embrace the IT/AV convergence and continue to strive to be the best control system distributor in the world.”
