Marantz has kicked off its 2016 home theatre offerings with the launch of a super slim design network AV receiver, the NR1607.

The model continues the company’s series of slim design receivers, as it is exclusively built for design and space conscious home theatre enthusiasts who do not want to compromise on performance.

It features the latest in AV technology, with advanced wireless connectivity, energy-conscious performance and high-end quality sound.

The system features high current discrete power transistors on all 7 channels, it delivers astonishing power and clarity from a cabinet just a little more than 10cm high. WiFi and Bluetooth, with dual antennas and dual band for robust connection let you stream your music via AirPlay or Spotify Connect, from 10,000 of internet radio stations or from local network storage drives, through to high resolution audio.

The NR1607 comes with Dolby Atmos immersive surround decoding to deliver breathtaking surround sound from today’s advanced movie soundtracks. Slim enough to slip into any TV cabinet, it delivers the same revolutionary Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound found in the very best cinemas, creating an overhead surround soundfield to give a dramatic expansion of the sonic space. A future firmware update will also allow the NR1607 to decode DTS:X soundtracks, for ultimate compatibility with this new world of 3D sound.

The video section supports next generation 4K Ultra HD high resolution video, along with the latest HDMI specification including 4K 50/60Hz pass-through and HDCP 2.2 compatibility that is required for 4K copy-protected content.

Set-up is simple using the Graphical User Interface, Setup Assistant and Audyssey MultEQ room calibration. Operation is just as easy using the Marantz 2016 AVR Remote App available for Android and iOS. It also features smart ECO mode which can automatically save significant electrical power without influencing the overall performance.
