Recently there have been numerous announcements about business cooperation between Skyworth and Toshiba. By agreeing to work together in many areas, Skyworth agreed to purchase Toshiba’s Indonesian TV manufacturing plant and help market Toshiba TVs within the Asia Pacific region.

Skyworth will leverage its large investment in research and development, manufacturing expertise, supply chain experience and other major resources to ensure Toshiba TVs are a valuable addition to today’s market. Simply defined, the range will now offer stylish contemporary designs, using high quality materials and offering market relevant features at an affordable price.

In regards to the ANZ market, Skyworth has chosen Powermove to both distribute and also service the product from 1 April 2016.

Following the announcement Powermove managing director Crawford Giles said the company was privileged to take on the opportunity.

“The Toshiba brand has a heritage that spans over 100 years and is loved by many consumers all over the world including Australia, with it also being recognised as one of the biggest technology companies in the world,” Crafword said.

“Add to this brand recognition the smarts and resources that come from being the market leading Chinese TV brand (Skyworth) that is manufacturing over 14 million TV sets per annum and we feel something special will be on offer for consumers.”

Distribution plans are being finalised, along with discussions with the major leading TV retailers to discuss the opportunity. Product will be available in the first half of 2016 and in due time announcements will be made on who the launch partners will be for this exciting new development.
