Classé extends Sigma Series with new Monaural Amplifier.  Classé’s new-generation Sigma Series, released in 2015, has just been expanded with the addition of a new reference Monaural power amplifier, ‘Sigma MONO’. The new model boasts increased output compared with its smaller counterparts, the stereo AMP2 and five-channel AMP5, making it suitable for partnering with less sensitive or more power-hungry loudspeakers.

Not satisfied with merely providing more muscle, the Classé design team has employed numerous enhancements to its ground-breaking proprietary class-D design. These include improved circuit design, upgraded components, additional features and changes to its DSP. The result is an amplifier that builds on and exceeds the high standard already established by its two smaller siblings, making it genuinely worthy of the reference moniker.

“Sigma Series is building an enthusiastic following thanks not only to its transparent and effortless sound but also because of its versatility and broad appeal,” says Australian distributor Convoy International’s brand manager John Martin.

“Its audio credentials satisfy the most astute listeners, while its flexibility appeals to audio and video fanatics alike. The latest Sigma MONO is ideal for those who want a high performance mono amplifier that doesn’t come with the usual space and efficiency drawbacks- or cost a fortune.”

Sigma MONO features a Classé designed Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) and Power Factor Correction (PFC) circuit, each operating at over 90% efficiency. In terms of power output, it delivers a formidable 350W rms into 4 Ω or 700W rms into 8 Ω.  Sigma Mono It is now available through authorised Classé Sigma dealers and has a Recommended Retail Price of $5,500 each.
