Software development company Chowmain has announced the release of Plex Full for Control4.

Plex Full allows consumers who own Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Sony Android TV, Plex Home Theatre or Plex Media Player dedicated HTPCs the ability to fully integrate their Plex libraries into Control4.

This gives users the ability to browse, search, playback and resume content from any Control4-enabled user interface.

“Control4 in the past has been limited to playback of movies on their system, now TV shows, photos and personal family content is available for users to navigate,” says Chowmain co-founder Alan Chow.

The new system gives parents the peace of mind to limit what their kids are watching.

“Dealers have been asking us for a way to lock down content on Control4 so kids can’t access R rated movies. We’re proud that we have finally made it possible to limit libraries to specific ratings via locked down user codes,” Alan says.

By integrating Plex into Control4, users can program the system to automatically play back movies or TV episodes with a single press of a button on the wall mounted keypad. The functionality also includes dimming lights and closing blinds features from the keypad and the ability to program automatic shut off of the AV system if you fall asleep.
